Re: 164 Q4 In Norway

Improving... improving... Old hose. Or... not old but bad quality. This is how it looked like after 18months use: http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210/runeta/Alfa%20164%20q4/20160910_170548_resized_zpsumpxoqf8.jpg Quick fix using electrotape while waiting for the new one: http://i28.photobucket.co...

Re: 164 Q4 In Norway

beautiful car and wheels, though would prefer the zender milano 16inch... I bought these from a friend and Im happy about it. But yes, Zender Milano is VERY good Choice. I will first put my money to get the car in very good technical condition before I start spending Money on "nice to have" things....

Re: amount of sold Q4's per country

Yesterday I got an order for a Q4 intake hose from Saitamaken, Japan - so that confirms, at least one drivable Q4 example is still alive in Japan. :D I received my Q4 intake hose from You this week :D In Norway, I think there is 4 pcs 164 Q4 on the road with plates in daily use. Mine is black 1996 ...

Re: 1996 164 Q4 speedsensor and thermostat and abs

About the speed stuck in 186kmh:
5894214 is a sensor in the viskomatic "gearbox". Is it possible that this sensor gives the info about the speed?

Re: 1996 164 Q4 speedsensor and thermostat and abs

As far as I'm aware the thermostat is the same across all V6 164s, so finding one shouldn't be too difficult. http://www.afl-ricambi.de/Thermostat-Alfa-Romeo-164-20-V6-Turbo/30-V6-12V/24V-thermostat-Alfa-Romeo-164-20-V6-Turbo/30-V6-12V/24V-60512900-60559862-60552314" onclick="window.open(this.href)...

Re: 1996 164 Q4 speedsensor and thermostat and abs

I just noticed your other forum topic, where you show a picture of your damaged intake sleeve. It just so happens that a member on here (artiz1 I think) owns a company that produces such items, and he has started manufacturing Q4 intake sleeves :) I need to buy one too at some point... http://www.e...

Re: 1996 164 Q4 speedsensor and thermostat and abs

Mine did 328km/h at a stand still. Replaced crank shaft sensor 60595754 and all was good. If this is not good, it can also create difficulties starting the car. Have you had the diagnostic SW connected to the car? This can also connect to the ABS. If there is no connection, you will have to find ou...

1996 164 Q4 speedsensor and thermostat and abs

ZAR164(168)00006324797 is the number of my car. Need to discuss a few issues: Even if the car stands still, the ECU say vehicle speed is 186kmt. Where is the sensor giving this kind of info? Is it the abs speedsensor, or is there a sensor on the rear axle? Others? Also I need a new thermostat. Probl...

Re: 164 Q4 In Norway

Great work on the servo pump! What problem did you have before, was it noisy (whine)? Did the seal kit fix it? No wining, just noticed that pump was loosing pressure when lowering engine revs. Steering could sometimes become quite heavy when I went off the accellerator pedal. They both look very go...

Back on the road again with "new" AC-kompressor and a partly refurbished servopump. I managed to buy a set of New gaskets/sealers for the pump, and made an operation on my kitchentable  :) Works Nice, but need to bleed the air out from the q4-system... Builds up the pressure little bit too slo...

164 Q4 In Norway

Hi all, 50 year old Rune from Norway here. Bought my first 164 ever this year. ZAR16400006324797 registered end of January 1996 in Germany, imported to Norway 2003. 142000km. Lots of Alfas earlier, but now this one and a 156sw 2005 (and Lotus Elise and a MB GL) http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c210...
