For ECU it is sufficient, but for the Q4 diag you will need specialized FLT diagnostic kit with modules, you won't get one new, some guys here on forum have it.
Thank's guys. A bit sadly, but today I sold my 164. Only what cheers me up is that that it found a good new owner.
Reason was only one place in garrage and I wanted to start some new project.
So today she drove away:
As for the trims, you need at least the trim below the light (if you did not bought the lights with it already) - red metal stripe on this photo: https://shopcar.parts/product_images/00 ... .jpg?big=1
It should be painted in the color of your body.
Today I finally picked up the wheels from refurbishment workshop, I'm quite pleased with the result :) 164_Q4_wheels (17).jpg 164_Q4_wheels (16).jpg 164_Q4_wheels (15).jpg And as I'm inpatient person I had to put them on straight away :D 164_Q4_wheels (18).jpg 164_Q4_wheels (1).jpg Also I used new t...
Some furter update. About a month ago I have pulled out the fuel pump to cleanup the pump basket. At the same time I have replaced the connectors on hoses going to the lid on the tank, as someobody demaged them - one of them was even missing the release ring, so I had to cut them out. The new connec...
Really great work! As for the gearbox mount, the one from TS fits without modifications, plug-n-play? because I when I was doing the work on my car I was not able to find the V6 mount at all... and it's only old mount in my engine bay
How did you manage to pull out the original plastic stud without destroying it? I heard they're glued in and it's really difficult to do so, since if you heat them they start to melt...
Really nice work I will hopefully get a hand on a set of those wheels for myself in two weeks (I was hunting for them - for a reasonable price - for some time) so I guess I will be undergoing this process too
Maybe you could check if you have light bulb for Q4 warning light in the cluster at all - for example when I disassembled mine, I found out someone removed bulbs for airbags
Unfortunately those are the typical "rust week points" - jacking points and the rear axle beam. Because those jack points are just welded on the flook, there's no reinforcment and when it starts to rust, you risk to get exactly such holes in the floor. That's why it's recommended not to jack car on ...
It did. So far this event is cancelled/postponed until... who knows when. With the current situation the organization would be almost impossible and also attendance would be much lower.
So let's wait for a better times
I guess it won't be the case, but when I was rebuilding mine, I had similar problem. I doublechecked all connectors on the way, relays, etc. and still did not had it working - on cable leading to the pump there was only small voltage. But what fixed it was replacement of the crankshaft position sens...
So, spring is here! And with that first problems :D First I found, where I'm leaking the breaking fluid - it was not from the clutch system, but from the master break cylinder, the two gaskets on the top (one leading to the reservoir) started to leak. breaking_master_cylinder_gasket_1.jpg Since it's...
If you won't be able to get new one then refurbishment is the only option. Guys here in Poland refurbished those electric shock absorbers in company in Poland and were satisfied. There's no other option, it won't fit from any other car. Also pre- and post-facelift have different front shock absorber...
Welcome amongst 164 owners!
To be honest, that rear frame does not look too well... you will have some work to do on that car.
But wish you good luck with the restoration, hopefully it will be worth it
