Re: 1996 Alfa 164 Cloverleaf (I'm back...)

So, Hayden, did you manage to buy those Zender Milano wheels for ridiculous price? :D I saw you commented on FB 164 group about them (at list I think i was you :)) I would opt for them too, but my wife was not to happy about that idea :( :D

Re: Alfa 164 2.0V6 TB Super (1995) - MikeCZ

Thanks :) I'm leaking braking fluid somewhere, still :/ In the area of the gearbox (that's where was wet spot under the car), not sure if the new master cylinder is leaking again or what... In the meantime I got hold of this "gem" :) 164a164.jpg 164i164.jpg Will need some restoration but in overall ...

Re: Alfa 164 2.0V6 TB Super (1995) - MikeCZ

Thank you both :) Well the drivers seat is in a bit worse condition, but still not that bad :) As for the update about the car recently I have replaced master clutch cylinder (the one on the gearbox), as it started to leak (despite the fact that the "old" one was replaced two years ago - but I guess...

Re: Alfa 164 2.0V6 TB Super (1995) - MikeCZ

Indeed it did :) In last few months I was still fighting with some issues - car had less power and higher fuel consumpion then it should. Although at first I suspected turbocharging issue, after some digging it turned out to be problem with ignition. Cables on distributor were switched for 1st and 2...

Re: Finding front shock absorber !

Keep in mind that pre-facelift and facelift (Super) version have different front shock absorbers - including upper mounting, etc. The best is to look up the code you need in ePer (for example here http://keyeper.pekidi.com). But the truth is that for Super version it's very hard to get new shock abs...

164 front springs

I have set of brand new front springs for 164. They're Kyaba RA1002.
Bought them to have them in stock but I managed to get another set so I can let one set go :)
Price is 80E + shipping for set of two springs.

Re: rubber protection

If you mean those for Super version, they're hard to get... even harder in goot shape. But you can use those from pre-facelift version, they fit and are from harder plastic so they're more durable :)

Replaced lambda sensor (so now it hopefully won't take 15l/100km and does not stink that much :D) and during weekend done approximately 400km. And it did not brake down, yet :) Also finally attended some Alfisti meetup after 1.5 year with own car :)

Re: putting 166 brakes in a 164?

But as AlfaWizz said, those have different bolt pattern (5x108), so unusable on your wheel hubs unless you want to have them re-drilled.

Re: Alfa 164 2.0V6 TB Super (1995) - MikeCZ

So today Alfa passed MOT (from technical point of view without restrictions, on emissions it had to be adjusted a bit :D). I took that long due to issues described here - http://alfaromeo164register.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&p=13543#p13537 Of course it would not be Alfa if I would not discovered yesterd...

Re: 164 V6 TB Super ECU part no.

To keep this updated, issues is really with the dials - I tested it with dials from another car and those worked just fine. Then I put back my old and begin to search for replacements and in the meanwhile I went with car to wash it and then did around 20km ride... after 10km dials started to work pr...

Re: 164 V6 TB Super ECU part no.

Tested two spare speed sensors (inserted into drilling machine) and it's also bouncing... So speed sensor in my car is most likely OK. Then I tried to swap out the ignition coil and here is some progress. Now multimeter connected either to the coil or all the way to connector C10 (CII) pin 8 return ...

Re: 164 V6 TB Super ECU part no.

Issue still ongoing... I fixed problem with starting (bad connector on the line from immo box to main ECU harness), so that's one thing. But dials are still acting in a funny way. What was checked and some observations: - grounds - all on all engine parts (intake manifold, throtle body, engine heads...

Hello guys, @Pinino: Thank you for the link, I will go through it. However it was not misbehaving like this before we removed part of the electric wiring for engine during the engine removal-insert. So I rather suspect loose connecion somewhere. So far I tried to disconnect and clean all cable conne...

It's alive! After 1 year, 2 months and 13 days it has finally returned (so far unoficially as it has to pass MOT) on roads :) 102_7928.JPG Driven around 80km and it's working... fingers crossed.
