From what I heard, you want 166 4 pot calipers and 330 mm brembo discs from GTA.
Ah, no, Alfa 166 Brembo should have disks that are 310 x 28 ...

putting 166 brakes in a 164?

Hi guys, I own an Alfa 166 3.0 V6 which drives very nicely but has rust, the rear suspension is worn out and the heating / airco is somewhat defunct. So I thought about if its parts could be taken to improve my 164, most of all by putting the Brembo brakes on it? Guess it's not plug'n'pluy but needs...

Just ask a specialist for car cooling, they will serve you the right on.

In Germany you have to pay for it in total, with installation, round about EUR 300.

Re: Electronic shock absorbers & steering racks reconditioni

As mentioned somewhere else I shipped a set of Q4 shock absorbers and steering rack for reconditioning in Poland. They are now returned and looks really good :) Still not mounted in my car, so I cannot comment on performance. You can read more here and see photos: http://alfaromeo164register.com/vi...

Alfa 164 QV 24V needs a rebuild

For sale on German eBay up to 28/01/18: a red QV 24V The seller points out that once the timing belt collapsed. Assumely it's the cause why the car was stored for about 7 years. The owner died. Thus papers are missing - but it's no rocket science to get new ones from German authorities. The seller i...

Hello Mike, Thanks for your reply. The car is running, so no matter to do all the way to Ostrava. Maybe it would be a nice roadtrip to the center of Europe that I would not do otherwise. So please let me know if you know someone. Nils p.s.: Just had a look: Ostrava is closer to Hamburg as I thought ...

The 164 24V engines have the same injectors as the BMW M3 and M5 had then. So, you can buy parts at BMW dealers as well.

For sure it's an italian version, the car is from Torino. But this version was distributed nowhere, and for sure not particularly in Italy where at that time was a special tax for cars with more than 2 litres.

Alfa romeo 164 v6 2.5 rarissima

Some lists for spare parts are listing the 164 2.5 v6. And from time to time someone asks if this version really would have been build. Here could be one: http://www.subito.it/auto/alfa-romeo-16 ... 919061.htm.

"...The maximum engine rev is at about 6200 rpm..." The Alfa 24V revs up to 6.500 rpm at maximum speed. Good to know that even the transmission of the Automatic 24V is not reliable on permanent German Autobahn run. Until yet I had already 2 24V engines collopsed at 240 km/h on the way throu...

Wanted: varnisher for a repaint

My blue Genova colored Super 24V was once partly repainted in a bad way, namely the roof -including the sunroof - and the bootlid. Moreover the bonnet shows plenty stone chips and the doors have a few dents. So sooner or later it would be recommendable to make an entire repaint. Does anyone of you k...

Steering, how it feels

In the last 2 years didn't drove with an 164 until recently. Meanwhile I am used to a 916 Spider as daily driver and the way it steers. So back now in a 164 I was a bit surprised of how unprecise it steers. What about the 166 (I have never driven one)? Does it handle like a 164 with the prec...

Re: Alfa 164 3.2 GTA spec engine rebuild

Hi Michel,

very interesting job that you've done.

In the video you state not to know what to do with the "3.0" intake. Hope you know that this kind of intake from the early 24V is rare - so please don't modify this intake, others maybe glad to get it.

Have fun with your 3.2

Well, I have stored it in a barn. Last autumn it it turned out that the engine has too low compression. So I decided not to do any investments. On the hand I am not willing to throw a 164 away.
