So our cars are Q4s. And one Finalfa's Q4 is also from me. I had something wrong in my head and bought 3 of them years ago. Now we (mainly my son and finalfa) are trying to get them running.
It is a virus, accept it :D

And it's good that the young generation get to work on these cars! :)

Re: Q4 4WD warning light on instrument cluster

Hi Grendel and welcome to this site :)

I assume you have a Q4, but it helps to put in your signature.

You can go to the 'Manuals' section and choose which version of 164 you have. If it is a Super (FL = facelifted version), you will find that it does not have the N22 unit.

Re: 156 gear change problem

I have not done this myself, but you should be able to find info on 156 forums. From what I recall related to this problem on 156's, you need to get at it from beneath the car and it requires some dismantling of parts as well.

Re: 1996 Alfa 164 Cloverleaf (I'm back...)

That is a shame, since it hasn't driven that much. I don't know if they are the same, but I would expect at least an early 916 GTV to be. It should be possible to find the eper parts numbers for this.

Btw. you got it started and am able to drive it! Did I miss what you did to get to that point?

I don't recall what 'Condition' is for, but don't think I have used it for anything when testing. Good to know that you got it to work and have been able to erase codes :)

Yes, the 164 is a very reliable car, if maintained properly and will pay back with a lot of driving pleasure, in particular the Q4!

Re: Long time road going 164 Q4 1994 project

So I spent a big part of Easter in my garage and managed to get the front and rear off the Q4 - my arms feel a bit longer now! Getting it all back together will take a lot longer, but I hope to be done some time next year... https://i.postimg.cc/473KfbmX/2020-04-13-15-37-09.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/...

Doesn't look that different in the photos, but engine is out, apart from one cable to the starter motor - I hope to get the rear taken off the car tomorrow...

"Let the fun begin!"

It will be a garage Easter for me, so time to dig in with the Q4 and get it disassembled. Some updates will follow, when my arms and fingers are able to use the keyboard again :)

Re: 1996 Alfa 164 Cloverleaf (I'm back...)

You can bridge the connection, so the pump is supplied directly. I don't recall the pin numbers, but I think it is written somewhere on the site. If it doesn't run, the relay is probably ok and the connection from there or the pump is not.

Re: Long time road going 164 Q4 1994 project

PIcked up a 1990 TS with 300.000km on the clock. The car drives quite well, but was bought because a new windscreen was available with it (needed for my Q4). It only has little rust and a damaged wind screen, but will most likely be a parts car, as I have enough cars to work on... https://i.postimg....
