Re: Alfa 164 QV 3.0 24V ignition problems

My guess is that one or both of your ignition modules ( Parts No. 60562702) located in the engine bay close to radiator and the air box) are failing. This happened to my QV24 once - one cylinder failed to fire up; swapped the ignition modules and the bad cylinder then moved to another cylinder. Repl...

Re: Clutch Master Cylinder for QV24 RHD

Hmm, it is intriguing to hear belatedly that the RHD's 166 clutch master cylinder is a perfect fit for the 164's. My mechanic has been fixing Alfa for many years so this latest finding came as a shock. Would be interested to see how a RHD clutch master cylinder looks like - I posted pictures of the ...

Re: Steering rack bush

I have asked the workshop to make me two pairs. I have yet to try them on. I shall see if they fit well and how the steering rack behaves after fitting. If all goes well, and if there is a demand for these custom-made bushes, I can ask the local workshop to produce some more.

Re: Steering rack bush

Dear All, I finally pulled my QV24 out from storage and tried to fix the steering rack, this is because I eventually found a used one in the UK (RHD) and the seller was so helpful to find me a machine shop to recondition the rack before sending to me. I then found a local machine shop to fabricate t...

It has been with my former mechanic who said he would try to find someone to fix it. That was like over three years ago and I wonder if he still has it.

Throttle Sensor or Knock Sensor Cable

I have a sensor connector in the engine bay that is breaking up. What is it and can it be replaced new?

Wow, am very impressed with the Q4 conquering the cold. Can't imagine how many cars over 20 years that can still thrive in such extreme weather.

Thanks for the heads up about other RHD regions in the world. Thanks also for sharing the pictur...

Ethnic Chinese living on the tiny island are more akin to the western world due to its past history as a British colony. If anything, apart from Australia and New Zealand, South African and Singapore, Hong Kong is the probably the last sanctuary of right hand drive vehicles. You will be surprised by...

Re: Alfa Day Hong Kong 2016, by Alfistizone

Pity that no 164s turned up on Alfa Day on this occasion. There are actually just a few left (not more than five, I guess) in Hong Kong, Louis' and mine are probably the better ones as he and I spare nothing in upkeeping them. Elsewhere the 164 chapters of various Alfa forums are getting quieter, as...

Yes, be very careful about fuel leak in the engine bay, imagine the car burning in flames whilst moving on the highway. There have been quite a number of Ferraris written off because of self-ignited fire. Our 164 are rare species now so let us keep them well and running. My earlier and present QV24 ...

Re: Broken Spring in Clutch Master Cylinder Pedal Not Return

I saw your post just now. Eventually all improvised methods would have some risks or won't last. What I did was to take my mechsnic's advice, taking advantage of the opportunity in dropping the engine to fix the steering racks, to change the clutch hose wiring to accommodate a LHD clutch master cylin...
