Re: Refurbishing the QV Rims
The factory original Speedline studs are made if plastic and were just pushed in. So removing was relatively easy - just grip the head, twist and pull. If you remove them carefully you can re-use them - but if you break one or lose one you would have to find an aftermarket set - there are many diffe...

Re: 24V serpentine belt idler pulley bearing
Folks, My QV needed a new pair of the V-belt pulleys but I could not find any new or aftermarket ones that would fit. Actually found a pair on an Alfa restoration site but not only prices are sky high but it is also impossible to complete the transaction outside of the US. Anyway, went through all t...

Re: Refurbishing the QV Rims
Folks, I started this thread some years ago but did not get into action until lately. The four challenges are (a) finding the right replacement bolts; (b) finding a professional workshop to remove the previous metal bolts (my set was refurbished once before and the previously workshop planted some m...

Re: Front shocks
If you won't be able to get new one then refurbishment is the only option. Guys here in Poland refurbished those electric shock absorbers in company in Poland and were satisfied. There's no other option, it won't fit from any other car. Also pre- and post-facelift have different front shock absorbe...

Front shocks
Hi, all, The front electronic shocks of my 1993 164QV24 have given up. Am trying to look for non-electronic replacement. However, there are plenty rear shocks on the web, but nothing on front shocks. KYB might have it but heard that KYB is too stiff. Boge and Sacks are OEM but they are rare and hype...

Re: Alfa 164 QV 3.0 24V ignition problems
My guess is that one or both of your ignition modules ( Parts No. 60562702) located in the engine bay close to radiator and the air box) are failing. This happened to my QV24 once - one cylinder failed to fire up; swapped the ignition modules and the bad cylinder then moved to another cylinder. Repl...

Re: Clutch Master Cylinder for QV24 RHD
Hmm, it is intriguing to hear belatedly that the RHD's 166 clutch master cylinder is a perfect fit for the 164's. My mechanic has been fixing Alfa for many years so this latest finding came as a shock. Would be interested to see how a RHD clutch master cylinder looks like - I posted pictures of the ...

Re: Steering rack bush
I have asked the workshop to make me two pairs. I have yet to try them on. I shall see if they fit well and how the steering rack behaves after fitting. If all goes well, and if there is a demand for these custom-made bushes, I can ask the local workshop to produce some more.

Re: Steering rack bush
Dear All, I finally pulled my QV24 out from storage and tried to fix the steering rack, this is because I eventually found a used one in the UK (RHD) and the seller was so helpful to find me a machine shop to recondition the rack before sending to me. I then found a local machine shop to fabricate t...

Re: QV24 Plastic Side Panel for Front Seats
It has been with my former mechanic who said he would try to find someone to fix it. That was like over three years ago and I wonder if he still has it.ALFAHEIDA wrote:Cant you use your own?

Wow, am very impressed with the Q4 conquering the cold. Can't imagine how many cars over 20 years that can still thrive in such extreme weather.
