TD on the road again

my TD is now driveable , made some turns, about 500 km, it's a very good car, very powerfull on third gear, fine brakes, fine road-holding, I had been 9 years during driving a TWINSPARK, now I'm happy to have another 164, such a beautiful car. http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/55697320131110141536.j...

Re: 164 TD re-start

New solenoïde, new pre-heater, but no starting engine or stop without a direct plus wire. :? So I checked the red and black wire till the plug at ECU enter, and I found it was not cut anywhere. It's the output of the ECU that is out of order............................... I use now a wire sna...

Re: 164TD BELT

Incredible !!! Yes the new belt is 10 cm shorter; though it's printed 2050 it's only 2040 long. Just received this morning another one made by Conti and it's fitted perfectly now. Now for starting engine there is still the bug; no electric current arrives on red and black wire to the solenïde when t...

Re: 164TD BELT

The belt for the models with aircon is longer than the one without aircon and the routing is different as well. http://catalogus.tuynder.nl/catalogus/api/images/9F9F59A9E5F98E083D4A7DDFF7A7CF40A2.png Yes, I'm sure for the model but it seems the manufacturer made a mistake. No problem for the routin...

Re: 164 TD re-start

thanks to you 164TD, you are very helpfull to me.
I did test the wire and it's not broken.
Think it's the solenoïde failure.

164 TD re-start

Hello! I had lot of work to restart my 164SUPER 2.5TD. This morning yet I tried to start up the engine after puting a new pre-heater BOSCH 0281003004. But it did not start until I fixed a straight wire between the plus wire of the relay and the engine stop solenoïde. But then it started and turned f...

Hello, I'm over 50 y.o and I love ALFA ROMEO from long time. I possessed four alfa 33, three alfa 6, one giulietta 1977, one 146 boxer, one 75 TS, a regretted wonderful 164 SUPER 2L TS during 9 years that I made the mistake to sell, and actually we boringly travel in a 156 1.8 TS. Some days ago I ha...
