Hi
Would anyone please be able to check where these wires connect roughly above the gearbox/ at the rear of the motor as in photo.
Especially the earth strap.
Thanks for helping,

earh strap goes from gearbox to the inside of the bonnet behind the coolant reservoir

Re: 164 V-6 wiring connections to find
On my car (US 1992 164S) the earth cable is flat (not L-shaped) and bolts to boss on side of strut tower just below front of reservoir. There are also three additional cables grounded with the same bolt, TWO 2-wire with "eye" and a 1-wire with "eye". It appears from your picture that the pair of 2-wire should go with the ground strap.
The red wire with female connector looks to me like the oil pressure sender wire, and just below that there is the low oil pressure sensor, probably where the other wire (green-white) with female connector goes. By the way those two are bundled with two wires with "eye" which ground to the head.
I can't identify your last wire (brown-white), the one with the right-angle connector. To my knowledge a right-angle connector does not appear in the Alfa Electrical Poster. I wonder if it is the third (independent) wire of the O2 sensor.

Come to think of it, the 3rd independent wire of the O2 sensor usually ends with a female spade and is protected by a round dust boot. There have been reports of a dangling brown-green(?) wire in the starter area—hot when car is running—that seems to have no use. Here's one post that mentions it:
