It goes on with troubles, now my wife's 156 has up to 3 cm rain water on the front passenger floor.
What's that damn

Most probably a blocked water drain, think that's a common issue with a 156.

Be prepared to find a lot of rust.

If you are sure that it is water, then a plugged drain is very likely. If it has a sunroof, even more likely to be the problem.

Thanks both for answering, well I found the issue: the ventilator is located at right side over the passenger's feet into a
round plastic box in vertical position, upper there is the A/C air filter and over the filter there is a manifold for rain water.
This purpose has an evacuation tube at right side. As this hole was stuffy with dirts, water comes over board and floyds the air filter then the box containing the ventilator.

And past nights we had lot of rain
