1. series odometer gaining mileage too fast

Hi guys!

I have 1989 Busso 164. It has analog odometer and trip meter. It is gaining miles like twice the amount that I have driven. Also the speedo is not working like it should.

Any ideas how to get going on repairing these?

Unfortunately those instruments made by Jaeger are becoming quite unreliable once it reaches certain age. There could be problem with speed sensor on gearbox (broken cables) but more likely whole instrument cluster (which is almost fully digital inside) needs to be replaced or repaired. Unfortunatelly, right now, I dont know anybody who could fix it. I have replaced whole instrument cluster on my car, but that lasted for about a year when problems started again.

I have this problem with my 3.0 automatic.
According to me it does not have the speedsensor cable mounted on the gearbox.
Suggestions anyone?
