Clutch change Q4

Post by finalfa » Mon Dec 09, 2019 8:02 am

Does anyone have any info regarding doing a clutch replacement on a Q4? From what I've heard, and what it looks like, it seems to be a pretty big job.
Has anyone done a clutch change with the engine in the car? I am considering between either dropping the whole engine + subframe or just dropping the subframe, supporting the engine and removing the box that way. Tips and tricks? :D
How many km's does a Q4 clutch last about?
And if someone has the correct part number for a clutch kit, please do tell.

You should contact Wilco, he has done the work previously without taking the engine out. According to the workshop I asked many years ago, it is quoted to take 11 hours....!

To my knowledge the clutch is very sturdy. I had it replaced around 270.000km and then again at some point after 400.000km, but that was because I replaced the transmission, while the engine was out.

If you search the forum, you should find info on the clutch kit I bought and what others have used.
