Refurbishment of a Super 3.0 12V

Post by Shenss » Sat Dec 19, 2015 1:58 pm

Hi guys

The link of the introducing of my car and myself with car pics:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1695" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Today I found a clue about the electrical problem (no juice on G2 fuse box):

Plus the result of digesting the wiring loom :?: :

Happy 2016 to everybody :)

After the repair of the wire, I finally had electricity in the dashboard and the clima display. However, the injector warning light is on and the key code light doesn't turn on :? :?: Tomorrow I'll check power supply... Otherwise I moved the car in a dry place and made some cleaning and fixing in the engine bay

Remember:

I put a set of new spark plugs and some good condition ignition leads

If anyone could fix the files access in the "key to wiring" section of the Super V6 manuals... :oops: :roll:
Moreover, would be great to have an access to the 12V Motronic M1.7 wiring diagrams thanks beforehand :wink:

Today good news :)

Guys,

This worked on my car. After checking and cleaning all connections and grounds plus the screwdriver trick my key code light works again (I had no spark on plugs). Hope this will help, thanks to the author.

Moreover I removed the master clutch cylinder (the slave cylinder was stuck in stop) and will be fixed with a rebuild kit, the cylinder wall and the spring are in perfect condition

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B018 ... 1_1&sr=8-1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The yellow plug comes from a brand new brake master cylinder. One little plug (initially mounted on brake line thread no pic sorry) is perfect fit to clog the fluid hose

Great to see that you got the project started and getting some progress :D

I might have the documents you are looking for, I will have a look.

Edit: I can see the M1.7 wiring diagrams on the page, but the key to wiring has problems.

Thanks for your answer Alfan, I'm glad some guys like what I'm doing for a 12V :)
Please check if you have the motronic 12V wiring diagrams, indeed the 24V is available I downloaded it and I'm very thankful about the job you done guys but the Super V6 has only one ignition coil including two bridges so the MOTRONIC M1.7 diagrams of the section is good only for 6 coils 24V engines. This is a pic of my own ECU, could you confirm the 12V has a different M1.7 management than the 24V or am I wrong about its spec name? I've googled this part number maybe this information is wrong :?: Thank you beforehand :wink:

Yesterday I noticed I forgot to plug the starter cable, after this was done key code troubles came back :? Obviously, I must have a look to all trunk ground connections (it was wet when I had the car). Also, I removed the front and back seats and found such a mess (mice... :twisted: ) I'll put some pics later suspense :mrgreen:

I couldn't find anything on the 12V, but according to Bosch' homepage for parts, that ECU number is specific to your model.

Promised pics!

I must modify two wrenches for the dashboard removal, a real part of pleasure not finished yet :o but I found an other clue relative to electrical issues, see my fuse box pics. I understand why the anti-theft system used to work while I made connection in the power distribution box with a screwdriver (G56,near to the steering fluid reservoir)!

Not sure if you are referring to any pictures, regarding the anti-theft system? Edit: Just saw the videolink you posted.

Some cleaning up to do, but the metal seems to be in good condition.

Indeed I see no rust. The rodent damage is shocking but probably less costly to repair.

Yes you're right guys, it's a little bit milky but I checked with a multimeter the current passes... :( Anyway I found a solution in a 1st series V6 164, I'm gonna transplant the engine + the entire management to remove the anti theft. I have plans for the original engine and management. I put an advert in the right section, I have many parts for sale.

Some news:

Sorry to jump late to the party, great work! :D

As I'm on a similar topic right now myself, your fuel rail looks amazing. May I ask what paint exactly have you used?

Some progress today:

I recently bought new belts but I noticed a lack of compression in cylinder 6 (around 6 to 8 bar). Having a doubt i removed the cylinder heads. Valve guides seems to be good and cylinder 1 has more carbon deposits on the combustion chamber either, probably a worn valve stem seal. The liners are a bit ovalized, i'll check the piston rings end gap by curiosity. Indeed, I found a donor with no antitheft, the engine has a blown head gasket on the right head but according to the seller the mileage should be under 100000 km. I'll check with pics and show you differences between them :wink:

Question. I see that yours chrome pipes were in even more rust than mine. With what did you clean them of rust and polish, so that they look like new now? :D
