Mechanical tensioner comparison

Post by Artiz1 » Thu Jun 22, 2017 7:55 pm

And my final post for today. Timing belt tensioner comparison.
My old tensioner was still the OEM unit from Dayco with Alfa Lancia logos, made in Canada. When compared to the new Dayco unit, you can see that now the metal pulley has been replaced with a plastic one. I think it's better - less reciprocating wight and also no rust. I just hope that the spring won't brake as on most of them...

The tensioner is screwed in place now, just not tightened yet. I have the remanufactured cams already waiting for installation, but now I am waiting for my special delivery - new tappets. These are not available in any of my local shops and had to be ordered in.

To be continued in a few weeks...
