164 rims 15 or 16inch.

Post by 164super » Wed Oct 30, 2013 1:55 pm

Hi all. Facing a dilemma here. Mine is a 91 164 12v manual w ori15 inch speedline rims. Its the same rim as yhe ferrari red alfa 164 on this website. Always wondered if I shud upgrade to 16in rims. Recently bought a 156 16 rims but still doubtful if I shud upgrade. Wats the widest tire size ican put in a 15 inch rim? Anyone with xperience trying out both and care to comment on the pros n cons? Thanks

I would stay with the original Speedlinerims for your 1991 164, 16 inch is only used for the later QV and Q4 series. I love original!

Yes I do love the original rims. Am planning to keep them..but just wondering if the 16inch would improve the handling and stability of the car. Have spoken to a couple of 164 owners who agree that ride is better w 16inch rims..thought of giving them a try..
was always crazy of the zender milano rims, but I reckon they are almost extinct!

The design of the filling tube of gasoline in the right rear wheel arch will not put the wheels 16" ET32/ 6.5inch without spacers, for cars up to 93 year.
Wheels from 156 - ET 38/ 7inch it still increases the thickness of the spacer.
