Hi guys

Im RIcardo from Portugal, im living in Ireland at the moment and i am preparing my 164...
So im back after a big issue with my first 164 1st series, in 2011 i came back buying a 164 super model two years ago.

Dont know why but i always like more the super model, but since i got it i prefer the first serie... ( i need to get both its easier that way )
The model i got have automatic suspension control with auto and sport mode and miracle, ITS WORKING eheheh
So thank to a big friend of mine the clima control pixels are also back to life.

Sure i got some issues with the "beast" its the name i give to my 164.
When i bought it two years ago ive done:
-Cambelt
-Tensioner
-Water pump
-Thermostat
-Ignition cables
-Complete service

Meanwhile the aircon compressor has died so got to change it... no problems for some months till the second cilinder died...

So now back to the fight and im putting a gtv 916 v6 turbo engine in it.

Hope it back to live soon...

Great introduction and thanks for the photos. Welcome, and I must say I completely understand your thoughts about preferring the Super first and then -after buying a Super- wanting a first series. I guess your proposed solution of getting both is the only way indeed; wise words.

The Continental GT guy has a more valuable car, but certainly not a more beautiful one. At least he recognized quality design when he saw it!

Good luck with the engine transplant; keep us posted please!

Thanks ;)

Now it's starting to buy powerflex bushes and engine mounts, service all engine before put it in place joints and seelings, water pipes etc..

The good news are that the new engine has 2 new camshafts and valves and the crankshaft never been touched so I hope I have some luck with it...

And of course a new clutch ;)

Hope this big surgery and after spend some money in it will be as new without problems

That is one of the rear versions, good to see it being fixed :)

I agree about being split between which series looks best, so I got what I prefer: The updated headlights and mirrors with the original side cladding and bumpers! 8)

Nice car, powerful and soon reniewed, enjoy it.
I do prefer Super brand but the first counters were more easy to read.
And the rims are smart.
