Re: Alfa 164 2.0V6 TB Super (1995) - MikeCZ
Indeed it did
In last few months I was still fighting with some issues - car had less power and higher fuel consumpion then it should. Although at first I suspected turbocharging issue, after some digging it turned out to be problem with ignition. Cables on distributor were switched for 1st and 2nd cylinder. Which was surprising finding, because I did not disconnect them from distributor during disassembly - they were sucked in to distributor, so I took that off as one part, and when assembling I put cable with ignition sensor automatically in to spark in 1st cyllinder. Don't know why before engine repair it was working quite ok, but not afterwards. Anyway now I connected them correctly, changed spark plugs (just in case) and it started to work Ok - power is back (approximately
) and fuel consumption seems also back to normal.
This weekend it also moved to new garage... in Poland. And today I finally managed to clean the leater with combination of clener + sealant DJ supernatural. I think that the difference is quite visible

Thank you both
Well the drivers seat is in a bit worse condition, but still not that bad
As for the update about the car recently I have replaced master clutch cylinder (the one on the gearbox), as it started to leak (despite the fact that the "old" one was replaced two years ago - but I guess it didn't like to lay around during engine replacement without the breaking fluid and it rusted inside.
Also based on my counting the fuel consumption is back to 10-10,5l/100km, which is the same as before the repair - so it looks all works as it should (despite some small and intermittent idle RPM fluctuation...).

Thanks
I'm leaking braking fluid somewhere, still :/ In the area of the gearbox (that's where was wet spot under the car), not sure if the new master cylinder is leaking again or what...
In the meantime I got hold of this "gem"
Will need some restoration but in overall is in ok condition

Re: Alfa 164 2.0V6 TB Super (1995) - MikeCZ
So, spring is here! And with that first problems
First I found, where I'm leaking the breaking fluid - it was not from the clutch system, but from the master break cylinder, the two gaskets on the top (one leading to the reservoir) started to leak. Since it's very hard to get the replacement nowadays, I was lucky enough and we found those gaskets. Because in ePer for V6 engines it's listed only as one part (the complete MBC). Luckily, under TD engine, it's also divided into sub-parts, and there's it is - 9948316 - and it's still possible to order it.
I replaced those, and although they're slightly different (smaller) on the outer side, inside is the same, and now it stopped to leak. So one small win. Also I got new reservoir for collant, old was ugly despite my attempts to clean it and it was disrupted the look of the engine bay
And I also change oil to Penrite 10w40, I'm interested how it will behave. It was recommended to me since it has more anti-abrassive additives (so is now restricted for sale in the EU
). So far I have to say the oil pressure is lower by +-0,7bar in idle in compare to 10w60, which actually should be better (now it's around 0,8bar at idle).
What is bothering me is that fact, that during bleeding the brak system (and flushing it) I found out one rear wheel is in 50% of cases not breaking - so it seems I have clogged/stuck the rear load regulator...will have to check that.

Re: Alfa 164 2.0V6 TB Super (1995) - MikeCZ
Some furter update. About a month ago I have pulled out the fuel pump to cleanup the pump basket. At the same time I have replaced the connectors on hoses going to the lid on the tank, as someobody demaged them - one of them was even missing the release ring, so I had to cut them out. The new connectors had to be modified slightly, but are working fine.
I have to say I'm finally starting to enjoy this car again and even trusting it
So we also hit the mileston I was almost not even hoping for already
Also thanks to a friend we fixed loose bolt on linkaget between gearbox and gear lever, so now the changing gears is precise and really enjoyable
And I also picked up the wheels from Q4 for which I was hunting for a long long time. They will need refurbishment, but I'm still glad I finally got them.
Yesterday I also did first longer trip since the engine overhaul, something over 900km (now it's about 3000km since the repair) in a day. And surprisingly, nothing has broken down

Today I finally picked up the wheels from refurbishment workshop, I'm quite pleased with the result
And as I'm inpatient person I had to put them on straight away
Also I used new tyres (Falken Ziex) as on the old wheels I have 7 years old Michelin and I did not want to play around with swaping old tyres (despite the fact they still have some tread).

Thank's guys. A bit sadly, but today I sold my 164. Only what cheers me up is that that it found a good new owner.
Reason was only one place in garrage and I wanted to start some new project.
So today she drove away:
