When I did arrive I just saw an 164 in pale red, much worn, with spots of missing paintwork and some small spots of rust. The bumpers are painted in brighter red, the car has some Borbet-(look-a-like) wheels whereat the black paint is peeling as well. Dirt in every imaginable corner. "Oh f**k, it's not looking pretty good." was the first idea.
Door opened, the interior is in orginal but much worn state. The red seats are worn much, in particular the driver seats entry side which is used up. Testing the sun roof, the enigine is working, but does not really open the roof, so hands off. The instruments are on but the mileage meter is showing nothing.
Trunk opened, battery plugged in and engine started. Starts ot once, first out-of-round but after some time it runs regularly. The engine number matches the QV 24V.
The seller tell much but not so much facts. The car would have been brought to Austria in 2000. He would have it since 2001 and used it the last time 3 years ago (matches with the vignette for CH and AUT-highways).
Documents? The complete black leather wrapper is on hand. Therein the check book. Ah, it was delivered originally in CH. Check book opened, well, delivered and 20' service at Foitek (still existing Ferrari et alia dealer), the pages for 40' and 60' are missing (the Swiss check book provides to pull out the pages so that only a stripe is left, which was missing here too), from 80' blanko. Reports from the latest technical controls the seller did made. Showing kilometrage from 125' ongoing, last time ca. 128' 3 years ago. Seems reasonable.
I am hesitating to buy the car, beacuse it has to be stripped down, painted newly and build up (wherefor I had to pay for regular garage prices).
The basis looks quite nice. There are not many QV 24V left with significantly less than 200' km, matching motor numbers and more or less service history. And with sunroof
