That sounds very reasonable to me, always good with an indication :)

Ok, so one last thing left - I need a sample :) Anyone have an old hose I could use?

I might have one, but I have a couple of bonus question to ask first: can you make one in matte finish, or are they always shiny?

Also, what about some other parts? We (well, I am for sure) are in a desperate need for top headlight covers (mostly flat, with some holes and angled edges) in black and small silicone pieces which go between the headlight housing and side quarter panels/fenders, originally clear silicone. Probably more complicated than the hose, if I assume your technology correctly. What about those?

Matt finish is possible, but I have never did this so I need to experiment first. But in general, it most likely is possible.
Now about the headlight covers - if I'm thinking of the same part, then it is very simple to manufacture. So should not be much problems to make them. Just that I need to have a look at both my 164 if there is at least one good cover. As I would need a good one for reproduction.
Regarding other small rubber parts - need to see them and then can say if they can be made. Silicone is only good for hoses and pipes, everything else is best to be made out of polyurethane, which we are about to work with as well.

The headlight covers for first serie/Facelift and Super are different.

I think it is the Facelift (FL)/Super version that is most difficult to find, so that is probably the most interesting at the moment.

Mike, it would be great if you have a Q4 intake hose!

Yes Mike, if you have got a spare hose (even a cracked, torn into pieces etc) let's trybto arrange for it to be shipped to me so that I could start work on it.

I've got all the rubber parts currently removed from my car, and I do have a spare intake hose which is only slightly damaged. I was actually planning to reseal it and reuse it at some later point, so it's not a disposable item. There is therefore a provision from my side: all spares I provide have to return back to me.

Please give me some time to go through my inventory, I had moved recently so I need to find all the relevant pieces in my storage.

I personally would be potentially interested in a matte black hose in two versions: a) which would go as a direct replacement of the original (I assume looking at your previous realizations that the corrugated part of the hose is not present in the silicone version, I guess the silicone is more flexible anyway) and b) a longer version that would continue instead of the stock air filter box all the way down to the cold air pickup and allow for a cone air filter installment.

Besides that I can provide the rubber headlight covers for the FL version from my Q4 (reasonable condition, although some parts missing and very fragile) and the silicone headlight trim (poor condition but may be useable to reproduce the original).

What do you guys think? Would anyone else be willing to go for a longer pipe? I'm aiming to simplify the engine bay a little bit with this.

Where are you located?

The hose would only be required maximum for a week, to make a mandarel tool. After that I'd return it to you along with the very first silicone hose as a thank you :)
Since my production capicity is limited, and because I make all sorts of different products, let's first of all start with that single hose and later we can think about other products. As I won't be able to develop them all at once, which would leave me with the original samples for a long time. And I don't want to have them for very long, so they won't be misplaced or lost.
Since my speciality is custom air intakes, I can design a proper cold air intake for it, but this is much more expensive and I'd need at least 5 buyers to cover the initial development and production costs, otherwise it won't be economically beneficial to make these for me at all.
Yes, the silicone is more flexible and so does not require the corrugated part. Plus is smoothes the airflow a bit.
My production facility is based in Klaipeda, Lithuania. So not that far from Germany :)))

Sounds reasonable.

Since I've just moved back to Poland, Lithuania is now even closer. :D Maybe close enough for a road trip some day to properly measure for the custom intake (although I am located in the south-west).

Let me go through my stuff, I'll get back to you as soon as I can get my hands on the intake hose in my storage.

There's no need for me to have a Q4 to design an intake for it, as it is the same layout as any other 164, so I can use mine :)
Once every half a year I drive to Warshaw because of my wife's work, so we might even meet someday :)
Plus I do a lot of road trips to Europe, so Poland is the unavoidable transit country for me :)
Waiting on your answer regarding the intake hose then!

So I finally bought myself my dream daly driver car - the 3L 12V automatic super :) And since I have it, I can do the 12V intake hoses. Question is - is there a need for them?

Congratulations :) Photos?

I don't know if the FWD V6 versions share intake hose, can check eper tomorrow. Might also be the same used on Lancia Thema, which got the 12V Busso V6.

I'll start a new thread about my new purchase later :)
I think the 12v intake hoses were all the same, but they differ from the 24v ones. But that is my point - are they still available or are they discontinued as well?

Of course!!! I was just about to write here as well, because the only Q4 in my country that is located 300km from me has got an aftermarket silicone hose made to fit and the OEM hose is thrown out...
So yes, write me an email at info@torque7.co and we can then continue from there.
Thanks for coming back on this one!
