Hi - I currently have 4 alfas , one of which is a 1990 164 2.0 TS Lusso. there are a very rare sight now in the UK - there are just 6 or so Phase 1s of this year registered on UK roads. I have owned two 164s previously - #1 was a black 1989 2.0 lusso , one of the early ones imported to Uk and the build quality was excellent. I ran this between august 93 and June 97. in traded it in for #2 which was a red 1995 non super 2.0 and i ran that from 1997 to 2002. they were great cars and the combined mileage across the 9 years was nearly 150,000m. They never let me down , just serviced them and looked after them. I always fancied one as a spare car , so when this one came up for sale last year through a friend ( another Alfa nut) I jumped at it. It drove the 100 miles home sweet as a nut. It has just 93000 on the clock , and had only 2 owners in the first 25 years, who obviously cherished it. The paint, interior and structure are original. Even the electric rear window works with no broken elements! As does the sun roof. The underside has just light surface corrosion on the suspension and the floor pan still bears the original red painted underseal even in the turrets. I've put period correct 17" Zender wheels on it, and I have the original 15" Lusso alloys , which need a refurb. I might lower it just an inch soon, while I replace the brake discs and pads which are showing their age. I have already put a stainless steel exhaust on it ( including downpipes) as the original steel was beyond saving. What do you think?
