Re: Q4 ABS pump and module

Not sure about G125, however the main ABS fuse G416 is located on the firewall, driver side. It's a 60A fuse. I seem to remember the wiring diagram was, how to say this, not very precise, so take it with a grain of salt.

Can you share more on how exactly was your ABS module rebuilt?

Re: Brakelight switch

Hi, I haven't managed to source a new one, but I did manage to repair mine. Have a close look if you still have it, when you open it up it's pretty simple. In mine I had to slightly adjust/bend the copper contacts inside and clean it up, as it was a bit tired, and it came back to life. It's a simple...

Re: Roofliner refurbishment

Wow! I must say, amazing work, looks great! :D As you say, it's inevitable and sooner or later we all will have to face it. So far I'm pretending mine is fine, as it's only sagging a bit above the sunvisors, which conveniently hold it up. But the day will come for sure. Glad to have your tip. Any sp...

Re: brake servo

Good question... Mine was making funny squeaking noises when I got the car, but back then I managed to get a good second hand one to replace it. Haven't yet found a way or a company to refurbish the brake servo. I'll be monitoring this thread closely.

Wow, really nice of Mr. Fumia to respond :) I remember him from our last meetup in Arese in 2017, btw already looking forward to 2027 :D I don't think it's necessary to get new Boge struts. You can refurbish them, luckily for us Boge produced similar dampers for other high-end cars during the time. ...

It's beautiful and if it only was Q4 compatible I would probably snag it :D Sadly, as Alfan said, Q4 has a dedicated module 0 265 204 007, later substituted by 0 265 204 008.

Re: Allarm Alfa Romeo 164

There is a small battery in the alarm unit with the siren, you may want to check that one out. In mine it was completely depleted and started to rust through (the battery I mean), causing issues. Be sure to disable the siren with the key first before you do anything. It's on the right side in the tr...

Re: Rebuilding Steering Rack

Interesting dilemma, and something which is becoming worrying about more and more parts, as the supplies dry out. It's possible the quality of the replacement seals was not OEM, and you can look at it two ways: replacements would be worse than OEM as they normally need to be cheap (we don't care abo...

Fingers crossed and will come back to check...

Re: Q4 4x4 Steering Angle Sensor

Hi there. Not an easy topic, extremely difficult to find. There was a post here somewhere which I remember, where it turned out that the fault was caused by the plastic cam driving the sensor, while the sensor itself was fine. I believe there was an option to 3d print a replacement. Have a look if y...

Re: Front shocks

I have refurbished my Q4 steering rack, and I know others have refurbished their Boge dampers here: https://nagengast.pl/en/regeneration-of-shock-absorbers/ I'm very happy with the result and will be sending them my dampers when the time comes. They specialize in Boge struts, not only for our Alfas ...

Re: 1992 164 UK QV clutch system help? parts needed?

Hi there, clutch to the floor and not returning is likely caused by broken clutch slave cylinder, at least that's what happened in mine when it gave up the ghost. Part should be still available, have a look at what that would be for your 12v, it shouldn't be too hard to pin-point. Also, it's possibl...

Yes, beware of the faulty sensors... Also ofc depends on what oil you're running. I switched to Motul 300V 20W60 long time ago and it did help with hot oil pressures (I'm not driving the car in the winter at all, but Motul's 300V anyway has better W spec than most 10W60 oils). Great looking car by t...

Re: New overhead light frame (non sunroof) - OE number 60777714

Good stuff! with some coarse primer and a bit of sanding, then painting it will end up looking OEM. With time, more and more things we will need to fix by 3d printing, so keep at it! :D

NIcely done, looks ACE! I don't have the original speedline wheels on mine, and didn't get them at all when I bought the car (came already with a set of different wheels), but if I consider to get them one day for completeness sake, I'll definitely use your method :D

Re: Q4 ABS pump and module

I had all sorts of weird issues with mine, in the Marelli tester it came up as faulty ABS module. Long story short, the culprit was a bad contact on the main ABS fuse. Be sure to check that out! The module itself, besides a possibility to physically separate from the pump (6-pin plug), is NOT openab...

Re: Front brake discs >10/1992

Good question. I've heard there is an option to swap/upgrade to 166 discs and calipers or alternatively 156 GTA disc's and calipers, both with some mods (adapters etc.). I'll be looking at that when mine are due, as it has many advantages. Will let you know how it goes, but I don't think it will be ...
