Re: Q4 ABS pump and module
For me it’s definitely the Electronic module that is the issue
So any help would be appreciated finding a functioning part or suggestions on who may be able to look at it with a view to repair

Re: 164 Q4 ABS Light
Hi all Well the ABS light is still causing issues and being completely irrational I think it is the module itself probably with a dry joint or something. I took it off to see if it was easy to repair, but could find no way of opening it up, so will send it to an ECU specialist for testing Using ecu ...

Re: 164 Q4 ABS Light
Just a question on the ABS control unit - it looks like it can be removed by taking out 5 screws. Is it as easy as this and can the PCB be accessed easily or is it Potted?
Was thinking it may have dry joints on the header connector, so wanted to check
Cheers

Re: 164 Q4 ABS Light
Thanks Alfan for searching this out that's great and confirms the software scan, its good to know you can talk to the car even without a computer! i hope now that I have no further issues but suspect the connector has been an issue in the past as somebody had used a cable tie to try to secure it to ...

Re: 164 Q4 ABS Light
Hi Alfawhiz I have checked the fuse but no joy and the connectors were clean although the plating on the fuse was not great. I will change it to see if this makes a difference Interestingly I wiggled the main connector last night with the thought it could be poor contact and the light went out. It s...

Re: 164 Q4 ABS Light
Hi Alfan
Yes I read the post earlier but the fuse does not clear the problem
Interesting that wiggling the main connector to the pump clears the light for a time, and also putting it in sport mode!
Not sure they are related but!!!
Cheers

Q4 3.0 V6 24v rod bearing bolt torque
Hi all I’m trying to find the torque setting for the big end (rod) bolts on my Q4 engine It has bolts holding the bearing block together and not nuts and studs. The only reference in engine manuals is to the torque setting of 39-43 lb ft for nuts on studs, but no reference to bolt torque settings, w...

Re: Viscomatic hydraulic lines
Hi Maciej That’s really great, thanks for digging out the info, I remember reading your thread concerning the issues with the filter Mine looked like pipe 9 in the Eper so not to much of an issue to get made, and the other lines at the rear need sorting as they are very rusty. The lines from the pum...

Viscomatic hydraulic lines
Hi all
Well after 24 years my Q4’s hydraulic lines are staring to show there age and one has developed a leak.
I will get some made up, but just wondered if anyone has a diagram of them or even better a pattern for making them?
Thanks for any help
Regards Daryl

The top mounts look nowhere near as bad as yours, but I will take them apart de-rust and paint. Thanks for sharing the pictures for reference. Mine is on 200,000kms only Plan is to refurb the old ones by replicating the spring pan and getting it welded on to the old body after a de- rust and paint a...

A lucky escape!
164 Q4 Down! Driving at about 20mph and I hear a massive bang from the rear, it turned out to be a snapped coil spring and collapsed lower spring pan luckily only a 1/4 of a mile from home. I limped her back to my garage with no further damage. I hate to think what would have been the outcome at hig...

Looks like the front right and rear left solenoid valves have a problem ? These would be part of the ABS unit probably controlled by relays
