Great to see good progress

Did you find more things to fix, while you were at it? And if you have photos of the rebuild, please share

I have never really used the system in my Q4, so I don't have any ideas, apart from going through the wiring. Maybe something can be found in the manuals on this site.

And it will take quite a bit more time...

Had intake pipes rechromed, also for some other Busso V6's

Brake servo is now removed (and some old mobile phone wiring), so next step will be to remove surface rust in the engine bay and prime it. Will be later, as some of the other cars require some attention before the summer season

Got the engine bay cleaned up a bit more and sent the intake pipes for rechroming. The valves seem to be fine, but working on the engine will be at a later point.

A shame about the photos, but great to see that you are still progressing - and you are a lot further than I am

Thanks for updating this site as well, it is not that active anymore, but I have it will keep on going, also since it seems that the 164 is getting more attention now as a classic

So almost 10 years since I started this thread and while the last couple of years have been very quiet, I have done some more disassembly to get going again :wink: - I finally managed to get the steering wheel off, which was really difficult - Inner & outer door skins are off, no rust, as expect...

You could try and download the free multiecuscan version, where I think it is possible to read data and error codes, but not reset.

If you can read data, then it seems to be related to the 164diagnostics program.

Welcome to the site :) It has been a while since I used the program, as my 164 has not driven for a while, and I use MultiEcuScan for my other Italian cars, so I don't remember the details. I have also not used it on win11, so no input either on that. I do however have problems on my new win11 work ...

I got hold of an original, unpacked paper manual for the electrical parts of the Q4 - in Italian

I have attached it, but maybe it is too large. Someone with access should add it to the 'Manuals' library.

We always like to see photos of the cars, also updates on the progress of the projects

Difficult to say what would cause this, if the car is running normal. In the manual section, you can find the one for Motronic 1.7, test 'I' relates to faulty injectors or injector signals related to the ECU.

That is looking really good and great that it can now be driven again
