Re: Long time road going 164 Q4 1994 project

So started to take the engine apart. By handturning the engine, I got 5 - 6 bar on each cylinder, so happy with that. Taking the top apart has mainly shown a good state of the parts, which I am happy about - and also expected to some point :) A little bit of marks on one of the cams, will have to lo...

Re: Steering angle sensor

I have attached a zip file here, containing 2 different versions, depending on if you need to use a 90deg setup, as I did.

Re: schock absorber

Yes, as I have mentioned on a few occasions, Nagengast have done a great job on the adjustable shocks on my Q4 and 8.32, and steering racks for both, as well.

Not really much Q4 specific up to this point, but will be later. And good to have you back on the forum 👍

Yes, a Q4 meetup would be a great idea, some day it should be possible 8)

I don't recall the number, but am quite sure that it is different because of the 4WD.

It is a however a good price for your unit 👍

I am in for contacting them, if you find a way.

Have you considered rebuilding the original ones or are they rusted away?

I saw earlier this week on FB that Ed has more Q4's, so might be worth contacting him again.

Re: Q4 ABS pump and module

If you believe it is the pump unit, I would suggest to have an expert look at it.

Otherwise Ed Alfist is my best suggestion for a spare unit.

Re: Long time road going 164 Q4 1994 project

The 164 was a solidly made car in so many ways, something Marchionne never really did understand... Last weekend I got the windscreen out (it was cracked) and got the chrome lists of in good shape. I have new screen and lists. Also the rear screen was removed, but that ended up in a lot of pieces an...

Re: Long time road going 164 Q4 1994 project

So I have taken the bumpers apart - so many rivets in these, but after 30 years and 550kkm I can only conclude that they are well made :) Also the inner roof is now out, as I want to remove the front and rear windshields next weekend, so that it is prepared for rust work, which will hopefully start ...

Re: Abs fuse box

For the Q4 there is a separate fuse for the ABS at the firewall in the engine bay. I don't know if this is different for FWD versions.

Re: Long time road going 164 Q4 1994 project

So prepared it for high pressure cleaning the car underneath, hopefully the coming weekend. This will be a simple clean to see, if more things appear. I am not expecting major things to appear, but I will take it from there and also hear what those fixing the rust spots will say. There is no need fo...

Re: Long time road going 164 Q4 1994 project

So slightly moving forward on the Q4, starting to put rust remover on some spots, then need to figure out how the best way is to clean the entire underside properly to found out exactly what needs to be treated/repaired/replaced. Deadline still some way into the future... 2023-11-05 16.17.46...
