Re: 1989 Turbo, Norway

Re: 1989 Turbo, Norway

All the electrics have been saved, but the engine block have a 10cm hole... looking trough the hole, one can see that the crankshaft is full of ripes and one rod and piston is missing... need a new engine, maybe from a Lancia thema.

Re: Gearboxes that fit in a 164?

Ive got a 4c turbo, it got a Lancia engine, mounting the engine to the gearbox is as simple as it can be, the Delta has the same engine ;) I think the width of the wheels are the same on the 164 and the delta, the delta is like 6cm less wide than the 164, and the delta have the wheels more outside t...

Re: Gearboxes that fit in a 164?

But that would not be as much fun;) From the few photos i have seen, it seems like it should be pretty strait forward to add a rear diff from a Delta ( maybe the same diff as in the Q4? ) the Delta had also the C.510 gearbox, meaning that it may have the same fastenings as the 4wd box, then it shoul...

Gearboxes that fit in a 164?

Hi!

I'm wondering if a 4wd lancia delta gearbox will fit in a 164?

How hard is it to mount a rear diff and hubs in the 1gen 164? haha i know it going to be some work ;)

Re: Cant open the hood on the car. Please help!

@wilco No I don't think so, the hood is bent... like real bad :( @fasani Well i guess it is a total engine failure, (I suspect the engine bearings) the fire started probably by the pistons going thorough the sump, creating sparks that lit the motor oil. the fire was only located under the engine, ha...

Re: 164 The Ultimate project!

Nice project! love pic's of stripped down engines :) played with the thought of building a 2l Lancia\Fiat engine myself. Off topic: In a total engine failure like i had (pistons took a stroll throughout the sump) is it possible that the engine block is still usable? and how much can this standard bl...

Re: 1989 Turbo, Norway

What most likely happened is that the engine pistons was shoot trough the sump of the engine... meaning that the engine needs new sump, new rods, new pistons, new crankshaft, new bearings, new gaskets, maybe a new block and top too for all i know... not a whole lot of that engine left then... if som...

Re: 1989 Turbo, Norway

Ive had a fire in the engine bay, think the engine bearings where worn out, because of low oil pressure right before the fire. I was driving a bit hard and suddenly i lost a lot of power, was moving like I had 70 HP, i then knew something was wrong, but it was to late, suddenly i heard a big boom an...

Cant open the hood on the car. Please help!

Hi! The hood on the car only opens on one side, the left only opens a little bit but not enough to open the handle(?) in the front, have tried to help the hood upwards at the same time as i try to open, but it will not go all the way up to the point where the handle holds it. Do anyone have any idea...

Re: 1989 Turbo, Norway

Thanks for the replies! :) I would be happy to take some more photos tomorrow. I have read some about the engine, and I got the impression thats it's a good solid engine that can handle a lot of HP ;) the car already runs like a Lightning, not my words!=) but I got to agree, and I love the sound! So...

1989 Turbo, Norway

Hi! I got myself a 164 1989 Turbo a few days ago, the one with the Fiat engine. my first Alfa! but there has been a lot of Italian cars in my family, so it kinda runs in the blood ;) The car got a Q4 spoilerkit and black leather, electric seats, so i think it looks quite good. it has a few flaws: th...
