164 owners request

Post by 164EVER »

Hello,
If you don't know, I'm lookinf for a pair of shock absorbers for my 164 (not Q4).
I already looked on at Ebay, Subito, mopart, alfa online, blablabla.
It's cooked up.
A pair of at legal price is unfindable.
So my question is:
you, every people owning a 164, would you agree to participate with me writing a common letter asking to BOGE, MONRO,KAYABA, to launch a production line of new shock absorbers.
Oh no there is no funds to pay, I don't want to hear about.
I write the letter and you just sign the PDF and I will send it when it's complete.
It's an idea, maybe you have a better one.

P.S: my poor T.S is absolutly undriveable, recently I tried used shock absorbers, they died after 50 km.

I am in for contacting them, if you find a way.

Have you considered rebuilding the original ones or are they rusted away?

Hello, from outside there is no rust they are clean one doesn't goes up and the other makes a curious noise when shaking it.
Here in France the only pro that can rebuild it is the STAC they ask 700 euros for one shock.

I sent a PM to Signore Enrico Fumia about this problem but he doesn't know how he could help.
Fine gentleman anyway.

Wow, really nice of Mr. Fumia to respond :) I remember him from our last meetup in Arese in 2017, btw already looking forward to 2027 :D

I don't think it's necessary to get new Boge struts. You can refurbish them, luckily for us Boge produced similar dampers for other high-end cars during the time.

I've used those guys, can 100% recommend (they also do steering racks): https://nagengast.pl/en/regeneration-of ... absorbers/

That said I'll gladly join in on parts reproduction requests (I'm looking at you, rubber headlight covers...)
