I don't recall what these do, I think Wilco needs to reply to this.

That is a good question. I don't have a standard immobilizer in mine, so never got into that situation. My guess is that it should still be possible.

Thanks. I was looking for something resembling fuel trims in newer EFI ECUs, but I guess you have to go all old school in this case, especially that the bus is pretty slow and even oxygen sensor readings are unreliable (too low readout resolution).

Still interested on ways to diagnose lean or rich condition using this software.

I was not in doubt when I had a rich mixture in mine (either on one cylinder bank or both), using the readings from the lambda probes/oxygen sensors were very clear (= low voltage).

Thanks for the reply Alfan.

Question 1:
In such event, would this software indicate whether there is actually a problem with the immobilizer?

My 164 has the key code light ON, so I would like to make sure whether the immobilizer unit is functioning correctly or not.

When I tried to connect the diagnostic cable to ECU, I only got the yellow indication but not green indicator. There was 12V supply to the converter, so my guess was that ECU was not getting power.

Question 2:
Are there any other possibilities (maybe grounds?) that could stop giving ECU the power other than the "S12a relay with diode" (relay near radiator)

Thank you

Hello everybody! I tried to connect Alfa164diagnostics to my Q4 engine control unit. It cant read any of live data or gauges. It can read error codes but does anybody know what these codes mean in the picture?

Airbag and ABS-solutions works fine!

Hello

My friend asked me to post his problem here If anybody knows solution or know what is this problem shown by Alfa164 diagnostic.

He has changed lambda (original bosch), engine temperature sensor (also original bosch), new spark plugs, service with everything changed. Also changed all 6 rubber hoses that come from intake manifold to chrome pipes, but car still runs ok for one minut on idle and then 2-3 times almost turn off and then again ok. Also notice some black smoke because too much fuel. Alfa 164 3.0 12V QV model 92.

I am also giving few photos that he took. What is lambda sensor integrator error?

I don't know how the immobilizer is connected to the ECU, hopefully someone else can add to this. I think there is a description on this site on how to bypass it.

If you haven't managed to get connection to the ECU, I suggest to look at the cabling for the diagnostic sw again.

About 2) it could very likely be a problem with grounds. Have you tried disconnecting the lambda probe with the engine running?

I don't know if it is solved. However, I can see that the lambda probe is regulating, but also that the engine is cold. How does it behave when warm? Any difference when the error codes are erased?

I would look for problems with ground connections.

I just recently downloaded this software and have been trying it out. I am wondering if there are any plans to add diagnostics for the automatic transmission or is everybody using something else for it?

I have bought all the equipment to connect, the programs sees that something is connected but when I pressed connect, it said it couldn't connect in XXXXX seconds and trying to reconnect. I also only sometimes get a yellow flashing light. Any advice? I did not set up any drivers.

I have an automatic 1995, 3.0 24v V6 164.

yes, These parameters are long and short term fuel trims.

you might have to change the timings for the adapter in device manager.
you can change the timings under the adapter properties. put them as low as possible.

As I don't have much time for it, I might publish the source code so vb6 programmers on the forums have a way to start and make it better and complete :D

lambda sensors only informing the ecu when hot, or in other words, the ecu will only use the signals when warm.
select the lambda only and use the graph. that way it's easier to see it regulating.

I am sure that more could be added with benefit to this, but it is awesome what it can do today. If you decide to publish it, I hope that someone takes it further - if you decide not to do more on it :)

Hi, I connect to My Alfa 75 2.0 TS (Motronic ML4.1) by KKL, all work with some bugs:
1. When I start the engine - always loose connection, and I can not reconnect, when engine works, what may be problem?
2. On non working engine: some time later after connection - loose connection, after reconnect all work, why?
Excuse me for my English, Thanks in advance

1: So when you have started the engine, you are not able to connect to the ECU? If so, I would try to start the engine, then connect for the first time after opening the program and see if that works.
2: If you mean 'non-running engine', I suggest you try and change the PC response time with the slider at the bottom of the window - maybe a slower or faster time will make it more stable. Mine is set to 12milisec.

One thing I noticed after installing windows 10, is that right after connection is obtained, I need to press 'Read errorcodes' several times for a few seconds, then the connection becomes stable. I have no idea why that is, but I can live with that behaviour.

If you read through the thread, you hopefully get the idea of what to do. The first page has links to the program and page 6 has links to the cables needed and they go the a usb port on your PC.

Also you need to supply the cable with 12V, e.g. from the plug in the cabin.
