I saw that too and it was a very enjoyable review! But disappointing that when he mentioned the Tipo 4 cars he omits the 164!

Just watched it - missing the 164 was, well, a miss...

I've been through the head gasket situation myself some time ago as you recall... I can only cheer you up by saying that access to a lot of other components will be much easier with the heads off, so good time to have a closer look at the steering rack, starter motor, gearbox linkage bushings (highly recommended), etc. Will be good as new afterwards though.

I will have to look at a look of different things and change the timing belt at the same time, so quite some work ahead.

I did run the tester last weekend, in particular for the 4WD and made a video of testing the pressure, which it fails. I would like to know if others have gotten the same behaviour, so have a look at the video here, please:

The ABS light stays off, and I told another Q4 owner about the solution. He did the same thing and the light stopped coming on when driving, so I think we have confirmed this solution by now

Not much has happened, but I still drive the Q4 around the building some times. Still runs and sounds fine!

Hopefully this fall/winter will give time to get started on some engine work...

At least it got a good wash to get rid of the dust and did so in good company

So it is time to get started on fixing a lot of things on my Q4, but mainly water getting in to the oil. A lot of other stuff also needs to be done, but I took it for a spin around the garage, before starting disassembly.

I have started taking the seats out, so the carpet can come out and be cleaned. Then I can also inspect how it looks underneath. I don't think it has ever been out. Small steps, leading to bigger ones later.... So to be continued

I have started dismantling the inside of my Q4. Next step will be the outside, that is taking down the entire front and rear part of the car. More to follow!

PIcked up a 1990 TS with 300.000km on the clock. The car drives quite well, but was bought because a new windscreen was available with it (needed for my Q4). It only has little rust and a damaged wind screen, but will most likely be a parts car, as I have enough cars to work on...

Doesn't look that different in the photos, but engine is out, apart from one cable to the starter motor - I hope to get the rear taken off the car tomorrow...

So I spent a big part of Easter in my garage and managed to get the front and rear off the Q4 - my arms feel a bit longer now!

Getting it all back together will take a lot longer, but I hope to be done some time next year...

Still going way too slow, but now it is easier to get under the Q4 - which is now a 16-wheeler offroader

The TS was sold to another guy in the garage and have been put back on the road and done more than 10000km since then - happy to see it running again as it was too good to scrap!

So I have slowly started on the Q4 again - or rather I bought another Q4 engine, that I am taking apart, as it has some crankshaft issue (I don't no more about it), but it is complete.

Whether this engine will be rebuild (maybe 3.2 or more) and put in the car, I have to decide on. Here are some photos of this engine. I hope to get a lot further with my Q4 this year, so it can get back on the road with me behind the wheel - more to follow

I still need to disassemble the tops, but the rest is taken apart and the crankshaft is not looking so good, but that was expected. Next step will be to find 3.2 parts for this engine.
