Well, this is the VW 2012:
of which they say: "Volkswagen Designers Replaced by Accountants at CAD Terminals. Which is only a slight exaggeration, because you can bet the bean counters were in on the process throughout. The new Passat, which just debuted in Detroit, looks like a Chevy Malibu." (not to mention a Camry)
I admit this 169 styling exercise (if that's what they are going to call it) is not such a classic beauty like the 164 but comparing it to the Passat is maybe a bit harsh.
