Alfa 164 q4 owner

Post by xeremind »

Hello to all!

My name is Pedro and I'm from Portugal. I'm a long time Alfa Romeo enthusiast, have several vintage Alfas and recently acquired a 164 Q4. This car has been forgotten since early 2000's and now is time to give it a new life. Cheers to all of you!

Hello again. Sorry for the (very) late answer and thank you for your warm welcome.

My 164 Q4 will undergo a restoration, it needs care and attention, will post some photos in the future. Now I need some help with the main fuel pump. Do anyone know any for sale or a look alike I can adapt? Part number is 60589833. Thank you in advance!

Good to hear that you still have it and want to keep it😎

Look at this thread, it contains bosch numbers and a possible other solution, though photos are not available anymore.

Hello are you quite sure that the pump is realy worn ?
Frequently the loss of pressure is due to the tiny hose inside the inner part of the equipment, see 18 on the scheme.

If you had any problems with fuel pressure, the submersible hose is definitely worth to check. But if restoring the car, it is worth changing components that are likely to be worn.
