I know this Alfa (Actually it was first on my list when I wanted to buy a 164, but back then Honza backed out on the sell for the time - he did not have his BMW yet, and in the meantime I have bought mine) and in person it's as great as on pictures! I can fully recommend it :)

Nickname for Jan Halgas? (Pretty good automotive surname, better than to be confused by a Japanese hatchback brand )

Nah, in Czech Honza is used for Jan similarly like previously Jack in English for John :) Just in English Jack is now "standalone" name whereas Honza is not in Czech (Based on last population counting there are 7 in the Czech Republic - compared to 294344 Jans :D)

I wish I can have a chance to own a pretty 164 with indestructible twin spark 8v engine, especially for facelift one.
I really do.

Unfortunately it is zero chance in here we can import a 20-year-old car and have legal license plate.

Pretty car!

Yes, that's always a mixed blessing; glad to have a successful sale; pity to see it's gone...

It's always good to check with a second source on these things, places like https://www.wcshipping.com/taiwan" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; could help point you in the right direction if it's possible.

I think harryw wanted to point out to mkelf (who lives in Taiwan) that certain freight forwarders maybe able to help with the transport of a TS to Taiwan (regardless of which country you source that TS from). Indeed they can also be useful in connecting you with a customs clearance agent in that country but I guess the problem is similar to Thailand: it's virtually impossible to get a 2nd hand car imported/registered here.

That's right. We can try to ship classic car to Taiwan from almost anywhere. But no matter how complete your paper work and document are, all of them require to pass emission test to get a new legal license plate.
Worst of all, no mater what car you wish to register a legal license, they use only one single emission standard that no way an Euro 2 standard car can pass. I think the "oldest" Alfa Romeo can still get a new legal license plate in Taiwan is JTS powered.
