Allarm Alfa Romeo 164

Post by Biagiocbx »

Evening everyone, I wanted to ask all the owners of alfa 164 with serial alarm (alfa romeo) if this defect has ever happened to you.... I insert the burglar alarm with the remote control, usual 3 flashes and it is activated and the siren emits a beep.. so all good.... but it hasn't done this function for a while and moreover, with the car on and running, sometimes the siren sounds and I'm forced to turn it off with the key... what do you recommend? I changed the internal buffer battery in the siren... thank you Biagio

I have never really used the system in my Q4, so I don't have any ideas, apart from going through the wiring. Maybe something can be found in the manuals on this site.

There is a small battery in the alarm unit with the siren, you may want to check that one out. In mine it was completely depleted and started to rust through (the battery I mean), causing issues. Be sure to disable the siren with the key first before you do anything. It's on the right side in the trunk, below the carpet cover.
